car sold but new owner won't come pick it up?
I recently sold as unfit a 97 Saturn for $100. The buyer gave the money to my neighbour who brought it to me. He had said he would be there in two days to pick up the car so I removed the plates and got the ownership ready to sign and a receipt to be signed. He never showed.
I now have a parking ticket on the car for failure to remove for snow removal. It has been sitting there for 2 weeks.
Since the ownership is still in my name what can I do? Can I report the car as abandoned? Am I stuck with the ticket (there is no address or plate number associated with the ticket). Can I resell the car and tell the guy too bad so sad, your loss? I have to do something because if the city tows it they can trace it back to me through the VIN. I can't move the car (tranny blown plus no room as we replaced it so the driveway is full).
I am located in Ontario Canada in case there are any laws I can use to my advantage or can be used against me. Any help is greatly appreciated!
write him a nice note giving him 3 days to move it , Then charge 10 bucks a day storage. when the storage bill overides the value. sell it/
