Is A/c wiring harness purchasable separate or do I have to buy the whole a/c compressor for my truck with it?
Is it possible to buy the air conditioner electrical harness seperate from the a/c compressor itself on my truck or do I have to buy them together at the junk yard or auto parts store, such as Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. The vehicle is a 1991 Chevrolet s10 Blazer 4.3 liter 2 dr 2 wheel drive. I know the compressor costs between 150 and 450 just for the part not including labor for installation and removal of the old unit. My a/c fan still works, but I think that I broke the part that pumps the coolant through the system although it is hard to tell because of the winter. All I broke off was the wire, but I think that's the part that controls the compressor's functions.
You can't splice the wire on the a/c compressor. It uses two metal fillament teeth to connect the wiring harness to the compressor. The teeth are covered normally by a rubber head, but since I broke the head off, the teeth are exposed.
sooooooooo whats the deal/splice the wire/no big thing
