Where should I go for rust removal and paint for a reasonable price?
My aunt just bought a new car so I get her Toyota Solora. It needs a paint job, it's rusting a bit too. I've heard some bad things about some auto painting shops, most cut corners and don't give you quality. Tried to look this up on internet and I get stories about MAACO ruined someones paint job. Prefer an answer from someone with experience.
To find a qualified body shop in your area visit this web site http://www.goldclass.com/index.shtml . This site will list all shops in your area that are I-CAR Gold Class certified. I-CAR offers the highest level of training in the collision repair industry, and Gold Class is the highest level a shop can attain. Any shop listed in your area will be able to do a quality job on your car.
The vast majority of body shops DO NOT cut corners or sacrifice quality to make a buck. Most people have no idea what it takes to properly paint and therefore cannot really say if corners were cut or not. If someone can give you verifiable proof that a shop does poor work then don't use that shop. If they can't give you proof that a shop does poor work, then they are uninformed and just spreading false rumors based on their ignorance.
