Quick Guide on Setting Up your Paintless Dent Repair Business

  1. Study your potential market. Do you have any links or relations at any body shops, retail shops, car dealers, service centers, and the like who will allow you potentially perform work for them? Imagine about your demographics. Are your possible retail clientss making honest money? Provide a list of connections, drop them a call all and let them know you are getting trained and skilled.
  2. Study your potential rivalry. How many PDR technicians or shops exist in your area, and are they operating well in your potential market? How much and what are they charging? How much connection does your competition have locally with your possible market? Keep notes.
  3. Know out your states' requirements. You may require business insurance. You may require a sales license, you may require many things. Run to a local dealer and ask the office manager what are the entire requirements from any of it's vendors.
  4. Register a business name. Run to your state's government website and find for information about registering a business. Go through the procedure of registration. With a PDR name, it should apply words that bind in to the PDR industry. Dings, dents, PDR, dent repair, and the like.
  5. Arrange business materials. You will require business cards, statements, and of course some accounting items.
  6. Go get taught, trained and buy tools. This one is obvious. You must get training, and have a basic toolset. You do not need higher than a fundamental set to start with, as the first number of months you need to practice, practice, practice.
  7. Keep your day job! You will be tough pressed to support your family or pay your present bills when first starting in PDR so stay in the job you have.
  8. Perform on your connections. You must practice, practice and practice. There few people who are eager to give you a blast at working on their $50,000 BMW except you are pretty sure of your skills. If you know someone who runs an auto shop, or wholesales, lend them questions if you can practice on their vehicles "for free".
  9. Begin selling YOU to your connections. They have a many options already for PDR. The difference you can provide for them at first is that it is you performing PDR for them, even if it isn't the most excellent they could get. Advertise them on how every day on Earth you are getting better, and that this is YOU that they are dealing with....
    .
  10. Finalize and settle the legalities of doing business. Wrap up any loose ends with regard to doing business as a dealer to dealerships and auto shops
