Moving Truck Selection?
I need to move from Oregon to Wisconsin. I don't have enough stuff to even fill a 16' truck, I'm getting rid of lots of stuff we don't want before we move. However, I'm also going to be towing a 1998 Chevy S10 pickup on a car carrier. I am wondering if I would be much better off to rent the 22' -24' diesel trucks, for fuel costs savings, even though it would be less than half full. I am looking at both Penske and Budget, as their prices are pretty close. Also, both have said that my 02 Dodge Dakota Sport 4x4 is too heavy for the car carrier, is there another way to tow it so we can drive the S10? The S10 gets more than double the MPG of the Dodge! Also, I'm pretty sure that they calculate the fuel cost estimate on a fully loaded truck.. What difference would I see with it being so underloaded, if any?
hope this helps. the 16 footer b better you will probably not save enough money on fuel thay would make it cheaper on you with the 22-24 . i went to budgets website and checked u can haul your dodge on the car carrier with it being 4 wheel drive. its a double axle trailer you cant put your dodge on the car dolly. on the website it shows a picture of a big suv on the car carrier. check it out click on the trucks and equipment and you will see. you can drive the chevy
