Why does the DVLA's historic vehicle threshold stay at 1971, rather than basing it on the age of the vehicle?
I think it's crazy given that relatively speaking the most environmentally damaging phases of a car's life are production and disposal! We should be encouraging the use of older vehicles, provided they pass emissions tests.
Sorry, January 1973, not '71!
It was supposed to roll on and cover 25 year old vehicles, but Labour (I didn't vote for them), stopped it at 1973.
