Car For Scrap Uk
May 3rd, 2011 by admin

car for scrap uk
Selling car for scrap legalities, UK?

We've sold a car to a person who's going to use it (he says) for stock car racing (car banging, bashing into each other on a race track).

He's said he doesn't need any paper work and there's no need for us to tell DVLA we've sold it, but only to tell them that we've sold it for scrap..

Is this right, do we just tell DVLA we've sold it for scrap, when really we've sold it to someone for stock car racing.

Thanks

UNITED KINGDOM QUESTION
SHIT, im not sure my husband got his details, it was just someone who phoned him, crap were in trouble.
the husband didnt get any of his details, were just going to see now if he answers his phone otherwise were up sh1tcreak
the guy who's bought it has given us his name and address now, we just need him to come back and sign for it.

You are bound by law to inform the DVLA, if he commits an offence or leaves it un-taxed on the public highway you are liable for any fine etc If he run over someone and the law arrived at your door you would be charged for failing to inform, same with speeding tickets, you would pay them and the points would be going to the last owner (you). Phone DVLA and tell them, then send in your paperwork.
