Car Pickup Accident

car pickup accident
Accident fraud!?! please help?

I met with a car accident 3 days ago. It was a chain collision. The car behind me hit me first and due to the impact my car hit the pickup truck in front of me. On the day of the accident, this scenario was clearly stated to the police officer by all the three drivers. The driver behind me also accepted that he hit me first in front of the officer.

Now i got the police report today which states, that i hit the truck in front of me first!!!! But what happenned actually was the car behind me hit me first due to which i was forced into the truck in front of me.

My car is new, nissan 2007 i got 3 months ago and my car has the maximum damage, cos it was hit both on the rear and in the front.

Has anybody been in such a sitaution or know anyone who has been in such a situation! What should i do about the fraudulant police report?!? I left a message to the officer and he never returned my call. Should i go talk to the officer?

Are such things some kind of insurance fraud?

I'm sure you have filed this report with your insurance company. Explain to them what happened. Most likely, they'll have someone contact to and discuss this. Nine times out of 10, the car in the back is the driver who will get charged. Now you have to go to court, right? I'm not sure if you can plead "nollo contendre" or not. You were not at fault, just in the middle. N/C is basically a term for the officer didn't see it and you can't be charged (no contest). Anyway, talk to your insurance agent about that too.

Did the other two drivers appear to know each other? Sometimes, they'll plan an accident and have you end up paying. Now that would be insurance fraud - to intentionally do something to get some money from an insurance company, while you pay for it.
