Flying in to JFK from Pakistan with 2 dogs: how long will I be at the airport?
I will be coming home after a year of teaching Mathematics in Pakistan. I adopted two rescue dogs while here, and am bringing them home with me. I will have all the paperwork necessary for them to be allowed into the US -- they are up-to-date on all vaccinations, deworming, etc., and I have someone getting the necessary official forms from the local US consulate.
Question: How long can I expect to be held at JFK while the CDC makes sure my dogs are okay to be let into the country? This will affect when I schedule a rental car pickup, among other things.
If the paper work is complete then certainly you should not have much problem in there. But you may land into trouble if they are ill or any kind of infection is found. And yes it can affect you rental cars timings as you might have to stay for longer duration at the airport.
