Whiplash Injury?
In June last year a car hit me from behind.
This wrote off my car and gave me a whiplash injury. This week I have had the first offer for the settlement of my whiplash injury just over 1300 pounds. I now have to ring my solicitor for advice
To me this is an insult as I am still suffering quite badly from this injury.
In another issue I am having with third party insurance they have offered me 50 pounds for the removal of my car stereo from my old car which was damaged due to the impact. I have told them that I wrote off the car stereo along with the car.
To me the third partie insurers are treating me like as if I just come down in the last rainfall. Also they offered me a kick in the privates offer for the scrap of my car (even though it was 12 yrs old)
Now... I know you do not accept the first offer. But does anyone think that the other insurance company are trying to 'short change me?
I could do with some advice from anybody who knows a bit about personal injury. THANKS
Refuse the offer!
If you are still suffering and can prove it by Doctors back up...you will get a lot more than that!
Also, tell the other parties insurance company that you want the car replaced with another of the same make, same mileage and same condition as the one their insured wrote off. That usually gets them going (only works if your car was in good condition) and if poss get forecourt prices to back up your replacement valuation! Treat the radio with the same procedure!
Yes! they are trying to short change you as they will always try to! Never accept the first offer and insist that you will pursue recovery costs for all injury, damage etc thru legal means. That costs them more as they have to instigate solicitors and that means extra unrecoverable costs for them.
For example to you only: My friend was driving to work one morning and a car hit her from behind. Only damage to car was a bent bumper. She had a minor whiplash (nothing serious at all, didn't even take a day off work) and she got £1500 plus the car was repaired back to original.
