Whats the best way to put a header back exhaust on without cats?
The air tube on my 92 GT has popped off of both cats and i wanted to get a new header back exhaust without cats. I was thinking of different things i can do like disconnecting the air pump or removing it all together, but if i can just put a cap on the air tube that'd be easy. I have heard different things from different people about their cars (88 crown vic, 91 jeep) not running as well as it had before the removal of the cats and pump. So what would be my best bet for going about and putting on a new exhaust without the catalytic converts (for sound purposes) without loosing power or having problems?
When you say 92 GT.. I'm assuming that you are referring to a mustang? You can just go online to Jegs.com or summit and order a header back X pipe and exhaust without cats. there will be no problems with this as I and several others have done this as well. I highly recommened the BBK x pipe and Flowmaster exhaust. There won't be a performance dropoff on a V8 like there is on smaller engines when you take the cat off. The full exhaust will have plenty of backpressure to avoid any problems and the car will sound great.
