TCC worried my older model pickup will not properly fit car seat?
I have a 77 GMC Sierra (2500), and it obviously doesn't have air bags, and My husband and I figured it would be safer than cars these days that are made of plastic, but my sister mentioned to me that the new car seats may or may not properly secure in because of the year of the truck, has anyone ever had an older pickup or car and what our your experiences. In our state it isn't illegal to have a car seat in the truck, just wondering what peoples experiences were about fastening the car seat in the truck or even an 70's model car?( I plan on going to a certified car seat installer when the time comes just wanted to know anyone Else's opinions)
Don't worry about it. Car seats are held in by the stock seat belt. I haul my son around in my 1955 Chevy wagon, 1973 VW Thing, 1950 2 ton truck, 1935 Ford Pick up, 2005 Jeep, 2002 F 350. His seat installs the same in every vehicle. I did have a 2002 BMW for a while that had the auxiliary straps for car seats, but I still used the lap belt. I also had a crew cab 77 Chevy pick up and he rode in that as well.
