2 times i went back to the dealer , within 24 hrs. Different things wrong with car. took it to my mechanic the next day for inspection. needs
$ 2000.00 worth of work in front end. Took it back and demanded my old car back and got it. I paid in full for this car , By check and some cash. Can he keep my cash ? No expenses on his behalf.
When you buy a used car, you buy it "as is", in the absence of a written warranty stating otherwise. There is no right to return a used vehicle - not in 24 hours, 24 days or 24 minutes. The dealer could sue you for the full amount of the sale and would probably win. This may not be over yet. You didn't state how much money you are demanding back, but you may just want to take your loss and move on and hope you don't get a summons as defendant in a civil suit. Furthermore, paying for something with a check and then stopping payment on that check is a felony in most states.
Next time, inspect the car before you buy it to avoid a situation such as this.
