What is "Cash for Clunkers?"?
Someone said it's a 3,000 dollar rebate for trading in an older car, but you can get 3,000 knocked off the sticker price for anything,
Sometimes they call it "employee pricing"
Sometimes it's in an brand trade up, like toyota will give you 3,000 off if you trade in a toyota.
Can you combine the cash for clunkers rebate with these, or is it some giant scheme to make you feel like you saved money?
In reality you could argue 3,000 of the sticker price of any car, I argued 3,000 of the price of a brand new 12,000 dollar car, that is 1/4th the sticker price.
I keep seeing it in the news, what is this cash for clunkers program and why is it in the news every day?
