Cars Cash Minnesota

cars cash minnesota
What is required to trade in my car?

I am looking to trade in my truck in the new cash for clunkers program tomorrow. I got the title but realized that my father's name is also on the title. It does not use any words such as "and" or "or", just lists us both as owners. It is my truck and the lien was in my name and I paid it off. I do not know where my father is. Is it possible for me to trade in without his signature? Can his wife sign for him?

Also, when I paid off the car from my bank I did not receive a lien release. Is that necessary? Would I be able to go to my bank and get one?

Last bit: I live in Minnesota if that makes a difference.

You should have gotten your title in the mail with the lien released within 2 weeks of paying it off.

But, the dealer will likely handle that for you. Assuming they can get a substitute title without lien. I believe they will need that for the cash for clunkers requirement.

I have never seen 2 names without an "and" or "or" on a title so I don't know but it might mean the same as "and" in if that is the case, they will want to see your dad sign it otherwise they would be liable to him if he later came back and sued them.
