i want to drive to paris and spend the day there?
hello i want to drive to paris from peterborough with my girlfriend just for the day. i have a diesel car, 50mpg. so how much cash would i need to go there and come back?and also does anyone know what time shops start to shut in paris?thank you
Drive to Ebbsfleet International station (just south of the Dartfort tunnel on the M25 (Clockwise), then hop on the Eurostar to Paris.
Book the right train and tickets can be as cheep as £60 return, but if you REALLY want to spoil her, get Leisure Select tickets and travel like first class on a plane; (wide seats, and a meal and drinks included!).

There is NO better way to travel!
Trust me on this! I used to fly, but now I wouldn't travel any other way.
PS. Parking is cheap and easy at Ebbsfleet, and these tickets will cost you a LOT less than taking your car on a ferry or on the train.
Paris is about 200 miles south in France, so a "day trip" to Paris by car is NOT an option. By train however, it is a doddle.
The 05:40 train gets to Paris at 09:15, and the 18:15 train back gets to Ebbsfeet at 19:20.
Shops open at about 09:00.
Gere Du Nord is right in the centre of Paris.
