how do I register a car in my name without a title.?
I bought a car from my girlfriend that I was living with for 2 years. I gave her cash for the car and did not think to get a receipt since we were living together. we have been broke up for six months now and she still has the title. she told me she would give me the title after I take the car out of her name. how can I do that? and now we are fighting really bad and she said she might not give me the title and make me give her the car back. can she legally do that?
You can not register the vehicle unless you have the title. She needs to sign the title where it says "Seller Signature" and give it to you before you can put the car in your name.
If you don't have a receipt for the car and have never registered it in your name, then she can legally take the car. I wish you the best of luck.
