Why does the government have to destroy those cars in the cash for clunkers program?
I know they want to help the environment, but wouldn't it make more sense to donate the cars to poor families or sick people who need to get to doctor's appointments? If the the government gave all the cars to some sort of charity, they could auction them off and use the cash to further help their cause. Not only are people buying fuel efficient cars but the old ones are being put to good use rather than ending up in land fills for years on end. Doesn't that make more sense?
I do see the point of getting the old cars off the road but poor people couldn't afford a new car anyway even with a $4500, and they woul have had to have owned it for at least a year.
Communism is on the rise. The hive mentality is winning over the free individual mentality.
