Cars For Cash Arizona
January 26th, 2011 by admin

Selling my car...am I being scammed?

Im selling my car for $6,000 online (craigslist). I live on the CA/Mexico border in San Diego. One guy from Arizona offered me $6,000. He wants to buy it now and export it to Mexico. He wants to fly over here tomorrow and buy the car.

Its odd since he could probably find better local deals and not have to fly here, its odd he wants to export it, and he wants it as soon as possible. Also he isnt negotiating on the price at all. He said he will pay $6,000.

I feel kinda nervous about the situation. I told him I will only take cash and I want him to come to the bank with me to deposit it. Is there anyway for me to be scammed from taking cash and going to the bank with him?

What would you do?
I forgot to add, he also agreed to pay cash and go to the bank with me. He said he is willing to pay however I prefer and deposit it at the bank with me.

What would I do?

I would show him the car, if he likes it I would then meet him at my bank. Then I would make sure he has the money, and if he does, I would then have a bank teller notarize the title. From then on the car is his to worry about.

I don't really think you're getting scammed. It is a tad odd, but if he has the money and is willing to spend it, who cares what he does with the car. You get your money, he gets his car.

Do what you feels right though. I definitely wouldn't step out of my comfort level. If you think something is too weird or too out of place, walk away from the deal.

Good luck and I hope it all works out for you.
