A co-worker told me that she bought a brand new hyundai accent hatchback se for $ 7500 dollars. She claims that she paid cash for the vehicle. The reason I am asking this question is because I only have $ 5,000 dollars to spend on a car and this sounds to good to be true.

I was thinking about getting a loan from my credit union. So is it possible to get a brand new hyundai accent hatchback se for less than $ 10,000 dollars in the Baltimore, MD area?
I highly doubt she bought it new for $7500 or maybe she is saying her loan is $7500 because she put down $3500 cash or had a trade-in. The GS 3-door has an MSRP of $10775 and a cash back offer of $1000, so its possible she paid as little as $9000. Then you still need to add on the destination charge, processing fee's and state sales tax (6% of $10,000 is $600). If you have $5000 cash, I suggest financing the car in full and keeping the money in a Bank CD as your loan payment will be low anyway and it will help you build a strong credit history. You can probably get a 3-4 year old Accent for $5000 though.
