Bergen County, NJ new Mercedes dealership revved up about new SLS AMG GT3

It's worth getting revved up about – maybe not worth an expensive speeding ticket, but even that might be up for debate with the 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3. The fact that it really is a race car complicates the situation, but customers of any Bergen County, NJ new Mercedes dealership may find a racing outlet.

This version isn't even street legal, but with a price tag of $456,500 you might not want to drive it in traffic anyway. That's why Mercedes-Benz has built the SLS GT3 to meet Federation Internationale de l' Automobile regulations. Customers can compete in short- and long-distance racing events with this compliance. Rockland County, NY GLK owners will certainly wish for the chance to take this one for a spin.

Only 20 of these vehicles will be manufactured this year, and 30 per year starting in 2012, so you may have to get on a waiting list just to get one. It would certainly be worth the wait for this tough-looking GT3 with its racing seat shells, steel roll cage and six-point harnesses. Even the plastic gas tank and on-board air jacks scream racing circuit.

With the perfect combination of power and weight, thanks in part to a forged aluminum suspension and a 6.2-liter V8 with 600 horsepower, the SLS AMG GT3 is graceful and competitive on its center-lock 18-inch wheels with racing slicks.

A few other professional touches like steel brake discs with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers and a six-speed automated manual transmission and Bergen County NJ new Mercedes customers will get a fever for this racing thing.

With a push-button start, the GT3 roars to life and its precise rack-and-pinion steering allow it to handle like a dream at speeds you usually only dream of.  Ultra-responsive brakes give a feeling of security and the shifting is flawless.

Rockland County, NY GLK customers will want a peek at this bad-boy ride even if it doesn't fall within their budgets. This is a serious car for serious drivers. Not only does it require a commitment of cash, but one of time to actually put it on the racing circuit. We're talking trailers to haul it, a crew to maintain it and – well, you get the idea.

Although it would be tempting to drive it to work, buyers should wait for the street-legal version that AMG is rumored to be working on. We can only hope it is forthcoming and that the price tag is a bit more friendly to the average bear.

In the meantime, we'll watch and drool over the SLS AMG GT3s that we see on the circuit and dream our dreams.
