What should you take on an out door day trip with toddlers?
My sister and I are taking 4 children ranging in the age of 2-4 years old, to Fort Edmonton Park (an living hystorical museum in which a lot of things are outside) We are going to be out all day, and I want to make sure that we keep the kids happy.
does anyone have suggestions on things that we should bring, but might not think about?
I am going to have a change of clothes and jackets in the car, a soft cooler with water and snacks, something like cheerios. money (cash not just my debit card)
A diaper bag with sun screen bug spray, after bite (all for children, the after bite is especially important in my opinion since the oldest is allergic to misquitos and get's blisters) childrens tylenol (just incase) an umbrella just in case, a camera and extra batteries, as well as a folding stroller (limited size for on the train at the park) and a child leash for each child.
Is there anything that you could suggest from experience of day trips like that?
Your list sounds pretty good to me, actually. I was definitely going to suggest drinks, snacks, and sunscreen! You will probably want to take hand sanitizer and/or anti-bacterial wipes to clean hands before eating (especially if you're going to be outside most of the day - those hands will be dirty!). You also might want to consider taking a few toys, just in case you end up having to stand in long lines or something.
Best wishes!
