What are my options if I sold a car to someone for part cash and they signed an agreement to pay me the rest?
I lived in Pasadena and was moving out of state. I needed to sell my car an had only one potential buyer. The person gave me 2500 cash and agreed to send me the rest (700) in one week. So I made them sign a document stating that they had to the end of the month to send me the money or they would have to forfeit the cash already paid and the car. Well they have not paid so how do I go about getting my money or the car back?
You have to take this to court and get a judgment against them. However there are some apparent problems in the document as you stated that might make it unenforceable. So maybe you have been paid all that you are going to be paid for your car however see what happens when the judge reviews your case.
