How much should I save for a 9k car?
I REALLY want a Dodge Caliber. I'm not looking to buy new, but I am looking to buy an 08.. possibly.
based on what I have found, it costs about 9-10k here in Portland, OR (and surrounding).
I'm going to be buying from a dealership- no financing. How much should I save to buy the car in cash? Also, I'm not going alone, I am taking someone who can haggle cars (he bought his daughter an 06 HHR that was marked 12,000 for 8500). How much do you think we can talk down the price?
I can tell you this. I'm a Used Car manager at a dealership and RIGHT NOW I've been looking at the auction for '07 and '08 Calibers..SXT trim and allow wheels, I'm having trouble finding any at the sale for under $9,000.
