Cars For Cash Raleigh Nc
June 10th, 2011 by admin

how much money do you think it would take to go to Raleigh NC from San diego CA?

well i am planning on driving there to visit a loved one
and id like to know how much roughly would be a good amount of money to have to drive there i would probobly be either sleeping in my car or in a hotel couple times on the way there,i drive a 1973 roadrunner witha 400 cubic inches think i get 10 to the gallon, well just thought that might be something to know, but if you would know roughly how much cash to have for that trip it would be great, basicly im going from west coast shore to east coast shore so ya

OK, its roughly 2600 miles each way so that means approximately 5500 miles total just to be on the safe side and to allow a little driving around in Raleigh. If your car gets 10mpg then you will need 550 gallons of gas for the trip. Assuming $2 per gallon that alone is $1100. I am going to stop right there because I'm sure that you can fly for less than that. Probably fly AND rent a car in Raleigh for less than that and it would save you a lot of time. It will take you at least 80 hours of just driving (roundtrip for this trip). Check this site for great air fares:

I just did a quick check at Hotwire for a roundtrip from San Diego to Raleigh in January (I don't know when you are going) and I found a rate of $212 for a roundtrip ticket. Great rates and MUCH cheaper than driving and it saves a bunch of time!!

Also: will your 35 year old car even make that kind of a trip? If it breaks down it might be hard to get parts for it. It qualifies as an antique since it's over 25 years old. I'm not being a smart asss but those are the facts.

Even better: I found a round trip airfare, 6 nights in a hotel and a rental car all for a total of $488 at the Best Western Raleigh. Now that is even a better deal!!
