Ok, I have a few questions about buying a car in the USA?
I am an international student from South Africa studying in Tampa, Fl legaly. The time has come where I really need a car. So i have a few q's
1.) Am I able to but a car cash without a ssn?
2.) Do I need a ssn to register the vehicle?
3.) Do I need a ssn for the insurance?
If anyone could help me out with information, I'd really appreciate it.
Oh yes, p.s.. I do have a valid Florida drivers license.
If you have an international license, I am sure there are ways around this. I would call your state's DMV and some insurance companies and explain your situation. I believe that you'll have to get a US license, which means you need an SSN. But if you are a student this shouldn't be too much of a problem Good luck getting a car, and buy Japanese.
