Buying a car with no contract by cash, don't transfer yet .Help me please.?
I am living in Los Angeles, I came from Thailand for last 9 months and need to buy a car , some one introduced me to see the guy that he is the son of the dealer owner in Van Nuys, Finally I paid $14,000 for BMW X-5 and $1,000 for transfer's fee , and I drove the car for 3 months , the dealer never transfer the Title or Pink Slip to in my name,
On the May 26, 2008 time 1.40 am , Lexus SC 300 was drove by the Black Guy ran into my BMW X-5 that was parking on the front of my house, my car was all damaged ( Total Loss ) , I had a liability insurance , but after two weeks I just knew the Black guy had no insurance, he did not make a payment ,
I talked to the Lawer to sue the black guy, and I have no pink slip or the Title of the car is not my name , and I called to the son of the dealer , he does nothing , he worried about that he sold my car with out transfering or file the transfer documents to the DMV,
What should I do that I can get some money back.
if you already talked to the lawyer, you need to talk with him/her about the title transfer; what the "son of a dealer" did is illegal
