Question about the cash for clunkers program? 1995 Chevy Lumina LS 3.1L v6?
I have a 1995 Chevy Lumina LS 3.1L v6 but I don't see that anywhere on the list to receive a rebate. It gets about 15-19 mpg (19 if I'm lucky) since it has a problem in the fuel system (that's an educated guess) but no mechanic I've had look at it can locate the problem (it's been at least 4 mechanics now) and I've had this problem for probably 2 years. I'll drive the car but when I turn it off, it won't start without stalling out for at least an hour. This is very inconvenient considering that I have to plan my day to go somewhere for at least an hour when it could be a 2 min trip to the store so I'll be stuck waiting. Driving this car is hell and it would be impossible to sell for money for a different car. Am I eligible since my car is broken but still runs?
The mileage figures are all on a list put out by the EPA, not by what your car actually gets. If your car isn't on the list, then it's not eligible.
