CAR SALESMEN/DEALERS: What GM vehicles have the biggest rebates? Even the secret ones please!?
We are looking at 2008 Tahoe or Silverado and our local dealer is saying that $2000 GM loyalty (trading GMC Yukon) and $2000 cash back on Tahoe/Silverado is it--so a total of $4000. Doesn't the dealer get incentives too? Also, my husband works at the dealership - isn't there employee discounts?
Shouldn't we be let in on their secret money? Any help would be appreciated!
He's worked for GM dealerships for 14 years. The General Manager of the dealership hasn't even mentioned GMS pricing. We are looking at the Silverado 1500 4WD, LT package with leather but not totally loaded (no sunroof/dvd/etc), crew cab.
P.S.--my hubby is the Service Manager at this dealership.
Actually, dealership employees do not get GMS. They get the same price, however it's called GDS, which still uses the GMS price from the invoice, however it's just a different code. They must work at a participating dealership and it's a privilege, not an obligation on the dealership's part. Your husband will have to go to his supervisor and ask for an authorization number, which will look like 123456789-GDS. The sales associate will then go to www.gmdealerworld.com and obtain an approval code.
He will get all dealer incentives as it's mandatory for the dealership to give all supplier and employee discounted deals any applicable dealer cash. Good luck.
