How much should I pay for a little runaround?
Hoping to get myself a little runaround car just to take me and my little boy around whilst hubby use his car for work.
Want something small (I don't like big cars and can't afford the tax, petrol and insurance) like a Micra, 106, Fiesta etc, probably about M-P reg with a few months MOT and tax, but not bothered if it has a few dents or needs some basic (non-costly) work done on it. I've just scrapped a lovely little L Reg Micra because the clutch had gone and it was uneconomical to repair.
What do you think I should be expecting to pay? Could you get one for £200-£250 or would it be an absolute shed for that price? Also, wheres the best place to look?
Han - Hubby is fairly handy with cars although even he didn't spot that the Micra was going to die. I know you can get the RAC/AA to check them out although I'm not sure how much that costs.
I actually had an M-reg cinquecento for £275 which was fantaic but I had to get rid of it because it was just too small,!
there are many places and cars you can buy for under 1k. But would you not rather spend a little more on a small car so it lasts longer?
