how much does a scrap yard get for cars?
I am looking to start a scrap yard. And I go to a large scrap yard at the moment to weigh in cars. They pay £137 a ton. How much do they get for the metal.
I know the large ones smelt the metal then ship it abroad but what about the small ones. What do they do. Give them to the large ones? How much do they get
t depends on where you live and the market in your area. Where I live in the midwest I have seen ads lately where they will give you $100-200 for your car. Last time I sold my car to a scrapyard the rate was $35 per car. You would definitely make more money selling the parts yourself but I think for most people it is not worth the hassle so they take what the scrapyard is paying.
