How much is a car worth if you scrap it at a scrap yard?
I have a 1989 Pontiac Firebird. I rear ended someone with it and am contemplating fixing it but I don't know if it will be worth it... It has already been sitting for a couple of years and is starting to rust. It is a sweet car in general and I would like to fix it but I don't know. What do you think?
I didn't ask IF I sould or should not scrap it... I want to know how much I can expect to get for it - that would imply that I was leaning toward scraping it.

$200 tops for someone to come and take it off your hands. Of course, thats in my state.
I would sell what you can off of it, then send it to the scrap yard.
Craigslist and EBay. There are at least 50-100 people out there looking for various parts off of any car to fix theirs that is not in bad shape.
If the interior is good, then start there. Then work your way under the hood & hatch. then Body panels. Don't start with the body and then have other parts get ruined by weather. You may end up making more than the car would be worth in good shape.
