Junk A Car That Has A Lien
June 13th, 2011 by admin

I bought a car from a junk yard and after I fixed it up...?

I discover that there is a lien on the vehicle from a lender. What I do know is, the total amount of the loan was $1,498.48, and that was in early 2007. The vehicle was just brought to the scrap yard and they sold it to me thinking it was fine. Now my junk yard car is in great condition and I get a phone call saying it's going to be repo'd because the previous owner still owes money. I didn't actually talk to the people yet, but have left a message. Just curious as to what my options may be. Sorry for long post, freaking out here.
The lien holder knows because I was an idiot and called to inquire about it, and originally nothing showed up, and a week later he finds out he has it turned into collections. A week of my wasting my time and money, crappy.

I wonder if the bank will sell it to me for a reasonable amount considering the shape of the vehicle, especially after I remove everything I have a receipt for.

Sounds like you have a shady junk yard... don't know whivh state your in, but any I have been to in most parts of the country, legally can not take in a car in any shape w'o a clear title, I'd find a friendly inexpensive lawyer and fill him in to see what my options are.....
