Junk A Car With A Lien
July 18th, 2011 by admin

Ideas for a car with a lien on it?

I got this car that I dont really want to get rid of, but I have to, since it has a lien on it, and the lender wont take it off. Also, the lender themselves doesnt want anything to do with the car; matter of fact its been stored for quite some time now. Only thing the lender says is to junk it. Any ideas how to possibly sell it with the lien? I know you cant do that legally, but any way around it, like someone buying it who happens to own a scrapyard? or what about selling it in another state, heard that sometimes works to get the lien omitted on the title. also, what happens when a person junks a car with a lien on it? what the process the junkyard does, like the paper process? thanx

If you don't want to get rid of the car, keep it. If you want the lien off so you do things with that, that's easy enough. Pay the balance due and the lien holder will release their interest in the car to you.

Junking the car will not make the lien go away, it's still owed. Junk yard don't care about titles, they are selling parts, and eventually scrap metal. Although even scrap metal places are getting to where they demand clear titles to take cars.
