I want someone to share their experience with me about donating a car for a tax write off. I want to know what can i expect back as far as when i file taxes next year. All information will be helpful
If you do not itemize, $0.
If you already itemize and the car is worth $500, $75 to $125 less in tax depending on your tax bracket.
If the car is worth more than $500 and the charity sells it, they will give you a form stating how much they sold it for. You can only deduct the amount on the form, you cannot use the "bluebook value."
