New car with cash for junkers program (less than 20K)?
We gave a 2001 Ford Escape that qualifies for the Junk for Clunkers program. We are looking for a new car with good gas mileage. We have three kid (1,4,8) but this is our second car that my spouse drives, we also have a minivan. Any suggestions of a good vehicle for less than 20K. Any other rebates, incentives or low financing would help. We really need a good deal. Preferably around 16-18K but could go as high as 21.
We just found out today that our escape with 121,000 miles needs a new erg valve (3200) and I am not sure it is worth it.
The 8 yr old is out of car seat but the 4 yr old is in a booster and the 1 yr old a car seat.
This is exactly what I mean. People that are against the program keep saying lots of nice cars being junked but they dont know whats going on under the hood. So instead of wasting thousands fixing it they can get a new car that will last 10 years or more.
Buy a Honda CR-V it will fit 5 people comfortably and cost around $16K with the voucher. Plus get 30mpg (hwy) and last 300,000 miles.
