Can a 2 year old ride in the cab of a pickup?
I just got a pickup truck with no extended cab. We have a family car too but my girlfriend uses it for work. She has to drive around for her job so taking the pickup would eat up alot of gas. I know a baby can ride in a pickup in a rear facing carseat but what about a 2 year old in a car seat? It wouldn't be a daily or weekly thing. Probably just this one time except for in cases of emergencies but I was just wondering what the law is on kids and pickups. I live in Iowa by the way.
It's not the safest thing you can do, but there is no other choice with a pickup. If you can, turn off the passenger airbag. It isn't illegal, but it is unsafe.
