EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED...I've have a problem well not me really its my NAN..she has a '1994' Rover Mini ''Tahiti'' on Sunday, 24 February 2008.. yesterday we were on a Car Park in Kidderminster (where I live by the way) and discovered that it was excuse my french.. Pissing Oil everywhere she said and I quote '''ohhh.. its not me it was probably another car''' but it wasn't so she went home (Bridgnorth) she lives put her car away in the garage last night put some newspaper where the oil was leaking out and this afternoon she went back in the garage and discovered IT.. what my question acctually is What should she Do?? she she cut her losses and SCRAP IT..!!!! or should she get it repaired bearing in mind IT could mean a NEW engine and for a car thats 15 (this saturday) I really don't think it would last any good advice would be most acceptable... PLEASE NOTE I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR TIMEWASTERS so for e.g. answers like errr I don't know sensible answers only please thanks
First thing to do is find out where the oil is leaking from. Some problems just need tightening: some need a new seal and some need a new engine. If you don't know anything about cars, get a mobile mechanic to come round and tell you what the problem is and how much it will cost to fix it. Then granny can make an informed choice without you telling her to buy a Ferrari.
