Should I sell, trade in, or scrap my car?
I have a 1992 Saturn that runs well, but does have some issues. It needs something replaced or fixed every few months. Its a good car to get from A to B and needs a good tune up but I don't know if I want to sell it to someone knowing its in this condition. I plan on getting a used car from a dealership and want as much money as possible to put as a down payment.
I think your best bet would be to sell it. Before you do, though, take it to the dealership and see what they will offer you for trade in value. If their offer doesn't satisfy you, then sell it and use the money from your sale as a down payment. Also, go to the kelley blue book website, www.kbb.com, and find the book value of your car. that will give you a good idea of what you can expect to get from your car, both as a trade-in and selling price.
