Scrap Car With No Title
May 27th, 2011 by admin

scrap car with no title
Need to sell car but problem with Title?

1993 Lumina, worth approx $100, and thinking would be best to scrap it. However, title is in my ex's name in Oregon but she has signed it over to me as a sale. All is legit but I have no title in my name and the ex is in Oregon.

I need to get rid of the car but seems that I would lose money after titling, insurance to get titled, etc. Is there any way to sell a car in Texas with an out of state title in someone else's name?
Thank you all for your input.

I have the signed Oregon title and bill of sale in my posesson and am looking to get rid of the car somehow. Scrap would be fine.

I should be able to scrap it as long as I have a title then?

You have the signed over title and plan to scrap it... You don't have to re title it to scrap it.

Call the wrecker service and have it scrapped. You'll get essentially $0 if they haul it away.

If you take it to the scrap dealer... they'll pay by the pound. in 1999 a Subaru station wagon was worth $60 in scrap. (I know because I had one scrapped then)
