living in canada i would like to ask about my rights when my mom got into a car accident ?
She got into an accident when an old guy hit my mom by the side and scrapped her and the old guys front was only ruined. they both tried to turn and he didn't show his signal and by the time he did my mom was turning and then she was hit on the passenger side. the police was the problem she was interrogated for 4 hours and he said i quote " doesn't matter if you take me to court i'm going to win, i always win". and my moms english wasn't good and every time she tried to explain he would say "I don't believe you". my mom would say you can't understand me my english isn't good. and he would say the same thing. he was being a dickhead obviously. now she has chest pains and i advised her to take pics of the car and where it hap pend, collect her witnesses, and also go to the doctor for the pains. what our are rights? and what can't a police offer do or ask or whats wrong did the cop do. we live in canada.
now shes at fault. 
If she disagrees with the police report, she can take it to her insurance company. If the other guy's insurance sue for the damages, they (her company) will fight the case.
If she is charged with anything (driving without due care, or making an illegal turn), she can fight that in court. get a lawyer, he can present her case to the judee.
