Can a reg number be found using only the vin number?
i have found a car that i like but apparently it has been declared as scrapped even though it has not. the owner sold the number plate and does not have the documents and dont remember the reg number, so does anyone know if i can find the reg number so i can get more info from the dvla as they will not help without the reg number.

Could the car be inspected and re-registered as a road legal car? Sounds like something dodgy has gone on with the motor, and that is why it is the 'right' price, maybe. I have not come across this nor has anyone I know. Is there an old tax disc in the car, a V5 document or MOT certificate from any point in its past? I don't know mate, but good luck.
