Car People? i need your opinion!!?
I have a 1996 Chevy Z26 Beretta with 122,000 miles on it. It has never been in an accident, and we have always kept up with maintenance and oil changes and stuff like that. We have had it in the shop a few times to fix or replace minor things, but nothing major has ever happened to it.
My Question is, how long or how many more miles do you think this car can last if this upkeep is continued? my biggest worry is that the tranny might die, but since i dont know much about cars i dont really know how long they usually do last.
Please just tell me if it would be wise or unwise to put some money into the exterior of the car i.e. window tinting, touch ups etc. I also am not sure whether or not to scrap it or try to get as many more miles as i can out of it. How much more life can i get out of this '96 z26?
Don't scrap a good car just because something may go wrong. If there are no rust problems, then the transmission might be the biggest worry, but, I'll bet that it is good for another 100,000 miles. And if I'm wrong, you are not losing much.
