Used Peugeot RCZ Prices
Since the scrappage scheme was introduced in 2009, there has been a shortage of used cars on the market. People preferred to trade in their used cars at their dealerships rather than sell them privately or via an auction house. Cars traded in on the scrappage scheme cannot be re-sold and must be scrapped. Fleet car managers have also been forced to hold onto their current stock rather than upgrade them, meaning less fleet cars were being presented at auctions. All these factors have helped sustain used car prices over the last couple of years.
Traditionally, sports cars and specialist cars would hold far less of their initial value, purely down to the lack of interest shown by used car buyers, the Peugeot RCZ has bucked this trend - at its first appearance on the used car auction circuit, Peugeot's award-winning RCZ sports coupe eased past predicted used prices to achieve an average of 92% of MRRP.
Sources have told us that fifteen used RCZs with an average mileage of 8,000 miles were auctioned at a closed auction at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground; over 70 dealers attended the auction. Even though it is winter, a challenging time for used car auctions, and the presence of 170 other sought-after vehicles, all the Peugeot RCZs sold, demonstrating huge confidence in both the car and the manufacturer.
CAP revealed that the prices achieved for the RCZs at auction outperformed an already strong set of valuations by CAP with an aggregate 103% of CAP Clean, underlining the strong pull of the Peugeot RCZs combination of driveability, quality and style. Other models in the Peugeot line up have also done well such as the Peugeot 207 in Hampshire
