how can you stop a death trap of a car being put on the road?
I know a person who has supposidley restored a car for someone and because he has spent all the money given to him from the owner he doesnt want to give them the money back. He has cut corners while restoring it and his attitude stinks, Its had an extremely lot of welding done badly and he says as long as its covered with underbody sealer mot inspectors cant scrape it off to check the welding. This i know is true, but the panels thats been welded can be prised off easily by a screwdriver. As a mechanic i wouldnt want the mot stations to pay the price, as they dont know the complete extent of whats underneath it. This car is a death trap and should be scrapped. Is there anyway to stop it being motd, like a warning when any mot station types its registration number in? also if you have this information could you forward the link to me in your reply

I sincerely hope you find a way. There have been many occurrences of that in the U.S. also. That's why I always advise people against purchasing a car with a rebuilt or salvage title. Too many unscrupulous bastards out there doing shoddy work to make a buck. It isn't worth trusting your life to a car like that. If you know who the party is that is paying for the work, I would suggest a note to them explaining what you know about the unsafe condition of the car.
