Should I Ride my high mileage car across country?
I'm moving from maryland to houston texas next month..and I was wondering should I drive my 1999 mitsubishi galant with 168,xxx miles on it or just sell it..public transportation isn't great out there and I'm on a tight budget..my girlfriend has a vehicle but sharing could be hectic..do you think I would make it or should I take the 1500
I put a new engine in it with 75,000 miles about 10 months ago
If the car is in general mechanical/electrical/tire good shape, it's a risk worth running, provided you don't overload it (trailer, trunk, cab, speeding).
Before starting, have a general check done (brakes, tires, lights), refil all fluids, carry some engine oil with you and top up as required.
Sell it after moving if you want.
