Would I get a fair price if I sold my car at Carmax?
I'm trying to sell my car and so far the scammers, weirdos and non-serious buyers are driving me a bit crazy. I looked into Carmax to get an idea of what they would offer. Some people are saying that Carmax offers the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value, others say they give 60% of the trade in value. If you have any info on what to expect, I'd appreciate some feedback before I waste Carmax's time as well as mine.
They are in business to make money both on trade-ins and sales. They do not offer book prices. It is hard to sell anything right now. You are better off to stick with selling it yourself in spite of the scammers and such. Keep on your toes and don't take checks or money orders from anyone. Good luck.
