Philadelphia is a Dry Town!?
I was recently in Philadelphia staying at a hotel, the Hilton on Arch Street. My friends and I was flaberghasted to not be able to find convienient stores or gas stations that sold liquor. We were told it was illegal.
When we did a Google Maps search, the closest liquor stores were miles away, we didn't have a car, and weren't open at night when we were free.
We had a completely miserable weekend looking all over the place for liquor.
Ok where is the question? But here are a few facts.
In the state of PA liquor is controlled by the state. You must be 21 in Pennsylvanina to consume alcohol. And it is illegal to sell liquor after 2am. Most liquor stores are open until 9pm. If you and your friends had valid ID , you should have been able to purchase or consume something tasty to drink at many of the bars or taverns located in center city.
