Do you think somebody selling their car in a different state meet me halfway to see it?
Hey guys. So i've finally saved up enough money to buy my first car (im a teenager) and i found my dream car(!!!!!) A 2000 honda civic hatchback for $2300.. but. Its in massachussets and I live in vermont. Do you think the seller would meet me somewhere in the middle ( in nh ) so I can see it and test drive it? What if I paid him another $100? Or do you think he'll just wait for another buyer? Its just I've waited SO LONG to find a 2000 honda civic hatch under $4000 that actually works! I don't know if ill find another one like this anytime soon.
* it would be about an hour drive for him.
You need to look locally, have it checked out my a mechanic of your choosing. if it looks good, but you don't have it checked out, you could be buying a lemon. Save a much as you can but your first car will not be your perfect car. You want a beater that runs. You also have to consider maintenance & insurance.
Never meet anyone in an unknown place. It's safer to meet at your bank to exchange the money. Banks also have notaries to sign the paperwork.
