Should I sell my car or bring it with me to Boston?
I am going to be a bu grad student and would be driving my car all the way up from Miami. I will be living in brighton (near oak square) on washington street. I am not sure how the parking situation is in that area and am wondering if it would be a huge hassle to bring my car or whether it would come in handy. Some of the factors I am worried about include 1) whats the street parking availability? 2) Do I have to have an MA tag/permit/insurance/etc? 3) will my car just be sitting there most of the time, especially during the winter if I have to shovel out a parking spot? I just wonder how often I would really be needing to use the car or if public transportation is a better option.
I just got back from Boston a few weeks ago and the parking there seemed to be fairly decent though I will warn you your car will be hit several times if you parallel park so that is a problem to think about. I would take my car with me and see how it goes and if it ends up being a hassle sell it, Boston has a great transportation system.
